Here is an additional account from the Deacon Trooper involved in the first contact on APR 4th 2005.
my eBook uses Apache members accounts along with the 87th Cadre and Iraqi interpreters.
I have not spoken to 1LT Tiedeman or any Deacon members. They received the most intense fire upon making contact and subsequently dismounted and were thus even more exposed to enemy fire when they moved to close with the enemy.
